Program Description

The secondary education program trains you to become a high school teacher. You will be required to identify a major and minor area of focus. Acceptable majors include biology, business, technology and media, chemistry, English, French, health, mathematics, physical education, physics and social studies. Minors include arts, business, dance, drama, English, French, health, mathematics, music, outdoor education, physical education, religious education, science, social studies, special education and visual education.

Sample Courses:
Self and Other, Curriculum as Cultural and Social Practice, Assessment and Evaluation; courses related to teaching of your major and minor.

Career Opportunities:
Graduates work as community college teachers, educational consultants, high school teachers, policy planners, youth services workers and more.
